OM45GE - Posted - 04/08/2011:  09:14:05

Funny, a lot of my girlfriends fathers felt that way about me too.

dat - Posted - 04/08/2011:  10:04:53

it's amazing the difference of the way you look at things once the girls are your daughters

OM45GE - Posted - 04/08/2011:  10:21:23

I only have a son but can imagine what it must be like - especially knowing what I was thinking about back then.

dat - Posted - 04/08/2011:  10:28:24

I'm glad that we had the girls, but I sometimes do wish they would have been boys just for that reason, and they would have been a lot cheaper too.

1four5 - Posted - 04/08/2011:  11:42:23

My daughter has already been divorced once. The kid was wierd. She's engaged again, this guy is pretty cool... working musician even.

dat - Posted - 04/08/2011:  13:37:22

does he like beer?

dat - Posted - 04/08/2011:  13:38:52

In some of my songs i have casually mentioned

The fact that i like to drink beer

This little song is more to the point

Roll out the barrel and lend me your ears

(Chorus:)

I like beer. it makes me a jolly good fellow

I like beer. it helps me unwind and sometimes it makes me feel mellow (makes him feel mellow)

Whiskey's too rough, champagne costs too much, vodka puts my mouth in gear

This little refrain should help me explain as a matter of fact i like beer

(he likes beer)

My wife often frowns when we're out on the town

And i'm wearing a suit and a tie

She's sipping vermouth and she thinks i'm uncouth

When i yell as the waiter goes by

(Chorus)

Last night i dreamed that i passed from the scene

And i went to a place so sublime

Aw, the water was clear and tasted like beer

Then they turned it all into wine

I like beer. it makes me a jolly good fellow

I like beer. it helps me unwind and sometimes it makes me feel mellow (makes him feel mellow)

Whiskey's too rough, champagne costs too much, and vodka puts my mouth in gear

Aw, this little refrain should help me explain as a matter of fact i love beer

(yes, he likes beer)

OM45GE - Posted - 04/08/2011:  14:34:41

I love it - now all we need is the music.

1four5 - Posted - 04/08/2011:  15:55:19

My daughter is more of a champaign girl... so if he knows what's good for him....

OM45GE - Posted - 04/09/2011:  05:49:46

Champagne, Champagne

I love those little bubbles

Champagne, Champagne

Though they get me into trouble

Lord, how I wish it would rain

Champagne, Champagne, Champagne

Mr. Quimby - Posted - 04/09/2011:  07:23:10

Coulda been the whiskey, mighta been the gin

Coulda been the three or four six packs

I don't know, but would you look at the mess I'm in

Head feels like a football, think I'm gonna die

But tell me, me oh me oh my, wasn't that a party...

OM45GE - Posted - 04/09/2011:  07:46:47

One too many drinks about an hour ago

All I want now's just one more

And when it hit, a baby I don't care

Where (where)

Where (where)

Where (where)

Oh where

Where is the next one comin' from

1four5 - Posted - 04/09/2011:  09:23:14

Why am I so thirsty?

OM45GE - Posted - 04/09/2011:  12:52:24

I'm a bad influence.

1four5 - Posted - 04/09/2011:  14:07:43

I would love a smoke and a shot...

OM45GE - Posted - 04/09/2011:  17:51:13

Come on over. I've got some Cubans and a couple of good single malts.

1four5 - Posted - 04/09/2011:  18:03:06

I'll dream about it tonight and enjoy every puff and sip!

OM45GE - Posted - 04/09/2011:  18:05:48

Here's to you!

1four5 - Posted - 04/09/2011:  18:13:31

Same to you!

OM45GE - Posted - 04/11/2011:  03:57:33

Are you ready for a cup of coffee?

dat - Posted - 04/11/2011:  06:43:39

I couldn't drink enough coffee sunday morning after the crawfish boil, have you ever noticed how smooth beer goes down while eating crawfish with friends, one of my friends wife had so much fun, she had to take a nap by the truck, maby she had a bad crawfish

1four5 - Posted - 04/11/2011:  08:03:31

I went to a Maine crabfest once with my wife. I was totally grossed out. I'll take pizza any day.

dat - Posted - 04/11/2011:  08:06:17

is there a Papa Murpheys there? they have a good take home and cook pizza

OM45GE - Posted - 04/11/2011:  09:22:37

Have you ever had a crab pizza?

1four5 - Posted - 04/11/2011:  09:30:26

We do Pappa Murphys quite often:)

I've never understood seafood. It's wierd, slimey, stinky, and doesn't taste anything like pepperoni. What so great about shrimp? I'd much rather have a big fat cheesburger any day.

OM45GE - Posted - 04/11/2011:  09:58:13

I guess that just leaves more for those of us who do like it!

dat - Posted - 04/11/2011:  10:07:34

I never have been to particular about food, most all of it is edible.  when you're the youngest of all the kids in a poor family,  you learn to eat what ever is on the table, and be thankful.

that has helped me in trying different stuff now, about the only thing I don't really care for is green bean cassarole, I like all the stuff in it, just not mixed togeather

Mr. Quimby - Posted - 04/11/2011:  11:21:25

I'm not a big fan of lobster or crab.  It seems like a lot of work for not much food and the flavor doesn't really appeal.

dat - Posted - 04/11/2011:  12:01:43

I guess tripe is hard for me to eat, the flavor isn't that bad really, but the texture is hard to chew without puking

1four5 - Posted - 04/11/2011:  12:18:37

I almost throw up just thinking about clams and muscles. I'll take a plate full of pancakes from Denneys ANY day!

dat - Posted - 04/11/2011:  12:30:30

or grits and a couple or three fried eggs and bacon

OM45GE - Posted - 04/11/2011:  12:39:52

I'm getting hungrier by the minute. Now I have to figure out what to make for dinner.

I was in a Huddlehouse eating breakfast in Georgia, 25 years ago. I put sugar on my grits. A seasoned waitress yanked the sugar out of my hand, STOOD on counter, and announced to the whole place that "There's a Yankee in the House!". What's up with that? I'll never forget it... or her:)
