I didnt know he played clawhammer either...he does a good job. .....i met Jens and Uwe at Merelfest this yr. in there workshops, very nice guys.

Several of us on the Hangout attended a workshop in Nashville with Jens a couple of years ago. The morning session was on improvisation in clawhammer banjo, and the afternoon was devoted to composition for bluegrass banjo. It was a most unusual workshop in many ways. Jens talked about European and even East Indian influences in traditional music. His love and devotion to music and to the banjo came through very clearly. I paid and stayed for the afternoon workshop just to hear more from him even though I don't play bluegrass. I couldn't sleep that night because my mind was racing.
The workshop was filmed with the intent of using it for an instructional DVD (similar to these YouTube videos), but it seemd clear to me that the sessions just didn't work out in a way that would translate to DVD.
I loved the workshops and Jens' gracious attitudes toward us and the music. My deepest regret is that my tape of the workshops didn't turn out because the volume was too low.
It's great to see Jens in these videos.

Jens plays clawhammer on Angeline the Baker, from the Choices album. It is just beautiful. To answer your question, no I don't think so!
