Any one ever change out the factory ring in a Earl Scruggs model to a Huber? And if so, any modifications needed? Thanks in advance.

I have switched my Earl Scruggs form the original ring to a Dannick to Huber Vintage and now to Huber's HR-30, all rings were interchangeable. So that is not an issue provided your original rim is not out of round.

However if you are not sure about how to go about setting you banjo up after a tone ring change I would highly recommend sending your banjo to Steve Huber & let him switch it out and do the set-up.

I have already been down that road and you will save yourself many hours & days of frustration & heartache.

I absolutely love the HR-30
