Hello - I'm trying to help my dad find a tenor banjo instructor in the east Texas or north Texas area and wondering if anyone knows of someone in that area who offers private lessons?? We have been searching for a very long time with no luck. I appreciate any assistance. Thanks!

Well as I am from England I cant help with a local instructor.
However I take lessons as do a few other BHO members from Steve Caddick (banjopa).
I take lessons from him By Skype online, with just the addition of a webcam and microphone.
Steve is a wonderful instructor and chap.
Have a search for him on YouTube and watch the 'take your pick'.

Gerald Jones is a member here and lives around the Dallas/Fort Worth area -- if that's close enough for you, give him a PM and see if he has an opening. He's a great teacher.

Since you're new, in case you don't know how, go to his home page (look on the lefthand side of this page and you'll see a menu and one of the headings is "Members". Click on that and then "member home pages" then type his name in the appropriate place on the lefthand side and click submit and it'll bring up his home page. Then there's a spot, again on the lefthand side that says "Private Message", click on that and type him a message. If he's not on the Hangout, it will go to his e-mail address.

Good luck in finding a teacher, I'm sure there are several good ones in your area.
