Hey folks anybody that's in our neck of the woods here in Louisville Ky come out the the Water Tower at Zorn and River Road for some festival action to finish of the holiday. My band and Murrell Thixton's band are playing this afternoon and evening. Murrell goes on at 3 and I go on at 5, it's all over by 7 so you can be home in time to still get rested. Steve Cooley

I was in Louisville, last month.. I stayed at the 21C Museum Hotel. The only bluegrass I could find that was listed in the local entertainment book, was outside of town at a little bar. When we arrived, the band did not show. I thought the town would be heavily steeped in bluegrass. I guess I should have inquired more, but good to hear you folks are around the town to entertain BG fans. (I do not remember the name of the bar, but across the street was another bar/restaurant that had an outside patio, with a live three piece band)

A few years ago, I was invited to give a workshop at the Festival of the Bluegrass in Lexington, Kentucky. I was there for a week and I loved it. The friendliest people I have ever met. I was sorry to leave. Wish I was there again to hear you guys play.

I was looking forward to seeing you and Murrell play today but just had surgery Friday and still can't walk yet. Have fun!

Was there on Sunday evening, first time to see Lonesome River Band live and what a show. Got to meet the band afterwards and talk with Sammy Shelor who was very gracious and friendly. Beautiful site for the festival, under the old water tower, hope to come back again.

It was good to see Sammy I had not seen him play in a while. He always has been great fellow as well as a picker. We go back a way , I believe he was in the Virginia Squires and they opened up for us in Richmond at a club when I was in the "electric" Dillards. The water tower event is a nice easy to get to , easy to enjoy. Look for it next year if you are in the area. SC

Hey Steve, sorry I didn't make it back on Monday to watch The Hog Operation. Bought a CD of HO in Glendale, near the Whistlestop, a few years back and really enjoy your music. Hope to see you next year.
