My boyfriend decided he wanted to learn to play banjo, so instead of spending a good amount on a new one in case he changed his mind, I picked up a used, five sting banjo at a pawn shop for fifty dollars. I haven't been able to find any information on it online, so I figured I'd have better luck here. Here are some photos

(sorry about the dog butt)

Thank you for your time.

Looks like a nice one, a good starter. After looking around on the BHO there is some discussion on Sevile banjo,s I am sure some one will have info for you maybe a serial # would help, a couple more pictures. Have fun learning I know I have.

Hi Heater, welcome aboard. For $50 that is a good starter banjo. It looks in good condition but a bit dirty. 'Seville' is just one of a huge number of 'brands' put on generic Asian banjos for a particular marketer or importer. You will see identical banjos around with different names. They are perfectly good as beginner/student instruments.
