If I could have one wish this entire year it would be that Pete would see the banjo I built from scratch from an old birch stair tread. His was the inspiration for mine. I don't know how a person would get ahold of him and he's probably got a lot going on as always, but just the thought that Pete actually saw photos of it would make my year.

Here's the whole story behind it:

The topic of Pete's bridge comes up from time to time. I have Stu's plans for that bridge & have emailed it to several hangouters who, I thought, had plans to build one of their own. I've yet to see anyone post anything about building one. If anyone is interested in these plans I would be happy to send them out. Send me a PM if you're interested.

...if you don't subscribe, the Jan 10 issue of Banjo Newsletter has an article about making a Seeger Bridge. Too in-depth for me but most of you could do it....

What a great conversation. More interested in the social commentary than the banjo. Those guys from that WWII era, both the vets and the social movements that came out of it, really understood proper ethics, values, and human nature. What is going on now is so shallow, self-centered, and the conversation so self-serving. Plus the music that is coming out now may be technically more complex but just doesn't have the basic gravity to it.

That bridge looks rather interesting. I bet it won't slip around much. LOL.
I've always admired Pete Seeger. He's a very pleasant man and a good musician as well.

...eventhough I got an answer form another thread - I would still like to purchase a Seeger bridge (rather than make one) ...so please keep me in mind....
Thanks
