Hey Gang,
Yep, its that time again where Im down to one measely phrase and I cant decide which to use in" Good Bye Liza Jane."(too neurotic..)..Joe and Laurence, I know you guys have already heard some counter -melody rough draft approaches but now its down to the wire. Please go to my page and listen to the two exps labled 1 and 2...They ARE quite different I can assure you. The mixes are alittle garbled becuase Im not quite up to speed yet and had to slow down the lead track.
Anyway, you guys have always been BIG help in these delimmas. I look forward to your critiques with great eagarness...OK BTW, I cant individualize the song links anymore? so this link will just take ya to my page..Sorry for the inconvience.

So I just saw the title of the topic and I says to myself "that sounds like the Kidd"
Aw man! why don't you ask me something easy!
Okay, I listened to both and A/B them - but this is HP mind you, cos I'm at work - so I think that #1 has the better blend, but it aint a big difference to my ears. Yeah, it's soooo you

Geez, how many banjo's is a going there, two, or three. I like the blend of the harmony mix 1 the best. Sounding great there.

It aint easy being me..Thinka who I have to deal with.. (that other banjo player JOHN..I hate him sometimes..)..HE is the reason "we" have this problem. HE wants # 2 cause of the more "EMO" effect...Now ME, (the KIDD) says NO, the E , F# and G notes right before the trips sound cool BUT, they not in perfect harmony having a less jelled unity. The end phrase is colored aittle differently as well with counter-melody...SEE what I have to deal with ?..
Thanks for listenin guys!!! Yeah , theres only 2 Jo's.The octave seperation may be giving the illusion of 3.

Oh well, your not going to like me, Number two, nice flow, its the one for sure, its a close thing though, i listened quite a few times, but good ol' number two takes it for me.....WELL ya did ask!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually Joe , #2 has more coloring in it due to the set of notes going up the scale instead of stayin right with the lead.I feel more "expressive " when playing it the #2 way.Even though it involves more strings , its actually easier to play..I havent really analyzed that ending tag ,I just know its more EMO too..SO, its no surprise that Emo Joe , Who BEST KNOWS EMO , chose #2....Ill prolly get it done tonite..Thoses patterns were a royal PAIN to get up to speed..Lots of ITIM and MIMT and switching back and forth major 3rd and (b7 for the 5 chord) to the 5th notes of the scale leading the charge...Its a great tune that alllows for sayin alot that you would wanna say...Linda, Laurence and John say #1....Im doing 3 breaks but only 1 with harmony...Lifes too hard...We shouldnt have to make decisions like this..
To the studio I go..We'll see what happens..

Thanks for listenin!
John
