This one drives up to the office and the sides open up and they have sandwiches and cokes and stuff. It’s not very expensive, but the food aint that good either.

The pimento cheese sandwich is not all that bad.

Just wondering if they have them in other places and if you ever had lunch from one?

Yes we have them in So. Flori-DUH. No I've never eaten from one.

BTW.....in my area the Big Silver Lunch Truck is called a Roachcoach.

The guys here call it gut wagon but that is kinda disgusting

When I was in construction I used to like the caterers that drove step vans. They would have pots of homemade soup and homemade sandwiches in there, also coffee and all the drinks. Seems like when the modern-style trucks took over all the food started being 'factory made' and the quality suffered IMO. Homemade soup became a thing of the past.

Yes....I would suggest the "roachcoach" to them.

That sounds good....I dont think any of this they bring is homemade

That might be a blessing in disguise, really.

We've got them in Alberta, Canada.
I've heard them called "Maggot Wagon".

They were a welcome sight at automobile shops where I worked.

When I was 17, I worked one summer at the local Ford dealership, washing and cleaning the used cars that were traded in, and the new cars that were sold. There was a silver truck that came by each morning at break time. I don't think I ever ate a sandwich from it, but I often got a fried pie (pre-packaged) and a soft drink. It was indeed a welcomed sight.

I've eaten from many of them, when I worked in construction I was sure glad when we worked in town where they came by. I didn't have to pack a lunch and worry about my bologna turning blueish green in my lunchbox

When I worked as a mechanic, the Roachcoach was always a welcome sight. Some of the best chicken-salad sandwiches I ever ate came from the 'coach'.

The ones that line up around the Mall museums in DC used to have heavenly hot-dogs. Anytime I catch the smell of a street vendor with hot-dogs, I get a great memory of my mother and I eating hot-dogs on the steps of the National Air & Space Museum.

Nowadays in Southern California we have taco trucks parked along the streets selling food. They have lights and plastic tables and chairs on the sidewalk.

Long time ago I used to eat off the lunch truck, don't miss it at all.

Nuttin like that here in West Tennessee.

The taco truck/Tamale Wagon!

Best fresh tamales in town. Better than any sit down Mexican food around (and we have a pretty substantive immigrant worker population) and it's all homemade stuff.

We refer to them as the Tomaine Tub. I've bought many a lunch from the guy.

I have noticed the food that comes from these trucks can be sight measured and that exact image will appear somewhere on your body after eating it. I believe it is possible to gain the exact weight of each sandwich, and you can do this every day until you're too fat to waddle out to the truck! Not to worry though, they will come and wheel you out to the truck so you can not feel left out!

I grab something to eat off the roachcoach just about every day at work. It beats trying to play Frogger across the highway to get to the fast food joints.

When I was in Horseshoe Bay TX, working we had some of the best food, the tejano women would come buy with some of the best made tacos on homemade tortias, we know which ones where safe to buy from. We tended to stay away from the Mexican ones, when they came around, you would notice whole nieghborhoods losing family pets.

Having worked in the service departments in several car dealerships I too have eaten my share of "Roach Coach" food. Believe it or not - in most cases I found the hot dogs were VERY good! They always served high quality natural casing hot dogs and always had plenty of hot sauerkraut and good mustard on hand to slather over them.

As to their chili......well
