Folk life would be cool, but Wintergrass would be cooler, Larger pool to draw from. Better facilities etc.. The fest is at the Hyatt Regency in Bellevue WA., Located just east of Seattle. The festival itself was voted the IBMA event of the year a couple years back back, it is the largest festival in the state if not the west coast, it is also one of the largest in the country. The festival runs in late Feb hence the name Wintergrass. All other info can be found at wintergrass.com

i think doing it closer to folklife would be cool. waiting until next february is too far off in my opinion, if only because i probably won't live here anymore by then. i'll be giving elliot bay a call today and also trying to think of other places that we could make this happen!

The only drawback for May is that Dusty Strings hosts a large clawhammer banjo weekend clinic in May, so it might pose a conflict for some. Early June sounds like a great possibility.

Wondering if June 18-20 makes sense. Weiser is the week after that and I can gang the trip then head to Ohio from there SO it would be a good timing for me. Also allows some space from other events in the area. Thoughts? How many are up for this?

for me personally, the early in june the better. i think the first weekend would be really good but of course, i don't expect things to be based around my availability and will still help with the event whether or not i can be there. my nephew's third birthday is on the 14th of june, so i will most likely be in texas for that and will probably go from there to kentucky to attend cowan creek which i am guessing will probably start on the 21st in 2010.

man, you'll be right up near my CCEast in Ohio last weekend in July. Or perhaps we'll be back at acoustic music camp in dallas early august.

Whatever it is you do, I'll do my best to be there; somewhere in the Pacific Northwest.
