Thanks All, for your help with all my questions while I was trying to assemble a banjo from different pieces. I used a goldtone BC 350 neck a Whyte Laydie rim and tonering a xnavyguy bridge and various used hardware from the HO classifieds. This project was both fun and challenging having to plug holes and relocate them and trying to line up the neck without proper tools to hold it in ;place while your are trying to mark where to drill the holes. Taking all this into consideration it turned out very nice and sounds good. Here are a couple pics. Larry

Beautiful! The perfect combination as far as I'm concerned--a nice fat neck on a Whyte Laydie pot.

For something you cobbled together out of various & sundry bits, that is one fine looking banjo. Way to go Larry!

Very nice job. I have that same neck going on a conversion. I had to repair the upper neck "under the fretboard" cracks on each side. I am also completing a StewMac old aluminum pot assembly with a Taiwanese neck(much better made than I expected) and a maple resonator -not from that same source. I have a question to pose-I will post and describe how I positioned the neck to mark for lag screws. Banjos are fun.Ol'Lefty

Very nice. I'm working on a similar project and if it turns out half as nice as yours, I'll be thrilled.

Very nice indeed Scooter and looks like a real player. I love that wide neck. What is it?

The neck is a Goldtone (Bob Carlin) BC 350, it is 1 and 3/8 inch at the nut, and I went to 1 and 7/8 inch at the bridge. Larry
