I just returned home from hosting the 30th annual Four Corner States Bluegrass Festival in Wickenburg, AZ. It was a wonderful festival with some great bluegrass bands performing: Honi Deaton And Dream, Mark Phillips And IIIrd Generation and Palmer Divide.
The banjo championship was held on Saturday with nine contestants vying to be the Arizona State Banjo Champion. It was a great contest, including a tie-breaker.
And the winner is:
Jeff Scroggins of Centennial, Colorado!

My wife and I were at the Wickenburg festival this weekend. My favorite all around festival of the year.....[even if I didn't win the Martin guitar in the raffle]. With fiddle, mandolin, and banjo contests all included in the festival, it delivers the best of all worlds. Can't wait 'till next year.
