Anyone up here in the Chicagoland or Northwest Indiana areas? Any open mics/bluegrass jams locally?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

The web site for the Old Town School of Folk Music is www.oldtownschool.org There are 2 locations, approximately 3 and 6 miles North of city center, the one on Lincoln avenue is larger.

They have banjo, bluegrass and old time ensemble classes and the occasional free bluegrass jam workshop. There are casual bluegrass jams in the area not sure where though, the office might know. David Bragman, one of the bluegrass banjo instructors at both of the locations, hands out a list of bluegrass local jams at his banjo classes and hosts a local bluegrass radio show.

Also go to www.folkjam.org and plug in your locale... it will bring up any registered jams in that area. From that point you can get more specific info on the jam as to what type of music (folk, blues, rock, BG, etc.) and also when, where, it meets.
