Sometimes, yes, but I've seen more than a few with nothing at all. ~Julio

After having just bought a Dannick, it only had a 2 digit stamped number on it. If I hadn't bought it from a BHO member through Robin Smith, I would probably have questioned it's authenticity. I would think, given their price, they would mark it in some other way to identify it as a Dannick tone ring.

Just to add... and because of some things said in another thread... the fit to my Factory Floor rim was perfect even though the ring was used. I haven't had the chance to put it in a banjo to give an evaluation of the sound yet.
Sorry for digressing but I felt compelled....
Back to the original question... I've had 3 rings... in additon to the Dannick. A Gibson 75 or Crowe ring, a Kulesh and a Tennessee 20. All were marked and distinguishable from other rings.

I bought a pot that was said to have the basic FQ ring (vs the cryo). No markings. I sent a couple pics of it to Bill Sullivan who sait it was definatly theirs. He recognized it "as a parent would their child". The JLS has no markings either and I supposedly have one of them also. Same with the RK and many others.
