I can not wait to this out at my next band practice. Well while I have you I want to say thank you very much for all you share with the banjo world. I have been around a long time and believe me it is very special when someone gives so freely like you do. You have a special gift and I am sure we are all grateful for what you do. I have to go before I cry. Thanks , Stuart Spruill-Williamston, /nc

That was absolutely hilarious. It was also absolutely brilliant.
Campers, notice both the the timing and fretboard positioning John did. Notice the use of pinches, rolls, and notes of various durations. Notice the right hand and the damping techniques.
I know this was done for a lark but it's actually a great lesson. Once you stop laughing, play it again - and again - and study it.
The banjo technique, I mean. The vocals sucked.

loved it
Well, hmmm, if that don't crank your truck.

I also appreciate a live video of something other that blazing bluegrass. I run into slowwwww slowwww country quite often and it's very difficult to play in that situation. This gave me some ideas to try the next time. I agree with watching it again and again. How about a slow old Hank Sr tune as a LOTW?

Awesome! I love the growl as you sing "Rox(growwwwl)anne". You gotta do the part two!! I'd love to see how the heck you'd solo over those chord changes.
Here the reference link to all the LOTW videos. http://www.jsutergraphix.com/LOTW/
And yes, this video made the list.

Well, I have some other special vids waiting in the wings, like maybe a Gregorian chant with banjo..........
If I knew how and had the software, Id do a split screen vid with two banjos, thta way I can solo......

Over the top.... and you proved all the notes are really there..........

Hi John
Best clip I've seen on BHO since I joined. I agree with the others the dreads would have finished the outfit.

This is an impressive video. Really. You sang well--the growl was cool. Every chord was perfect. Timing was impeccable. It was really enjoyable and fun to watch. Did you do this is one take or are there bloopers for this blooper?

Now why does my computer refuse to let me watch these 'Bloopers' of John's? when in the past all I had to do was 'click on it'. Has something changed whilst I was away? I've downloaded the free version of quicktime but with no success. Am I in need of therapy? I'll keep on trying. Help! Edwin T (Grumps)

THAT IS TOO COOL!!!!
Average is as close to the bottom as the top!

Well! I eventually got to watch John's rendition, damned good mate, voice better than mine. Apparently I suddenly seemed to need 'Flash Player' so now I can pick up the banjo & back to practice, Lord knows I need it.

Awesome video. What's the roll pattern for the chorus? I have been playing with it but can't seem to nail it
Catching Second - Posted - 11/18/2009: 06:25:50
I made a mistake and showed my wife too, Possum. She took her bra off and threw it at the computer while screaming "I'm your biggest fan!".

I think what makes it so funny, is you come across very serious about it!

LOL. That's great! I'm going to study it for the next time I'm jamming with my brother in law and his guitar. I get really sick of his All Pink Floyd All the Time so this will be a welcome change.
