I think Bellichek over analyzed a little.

Yeah, that was one of the dumbest coaching decisions ever, you can't take that chance on 4th down and end up giving Manning only 30 yards to go for a TD to beat you. I guess he didn't trust his defense, but he put them in a hole with that decision.
Great game and a great comeback by the Colts. Anytime the Colts can beat Bill Belicheat and pretty boy Brady, to come back from 17 points down in the 4th quarter no less, it's a great day. GO COLTS.

Yeah, your right. He's a coaching wizard. Not like Him to make calls like that. Hoyt

Great game. Sadly, as with any game, football or baseball, it showed that technology has exposed the officials' shortcomings. Though they do the best they can, they really can't keep up with the game, and they make calls based on what they think happened rather than what they saw (often they can't see the play, but make a call anyway). I wish the powers that be in both sports would make much heavier use of instant replay and that the refs and umpires would stow their egos and adopt the tennis linespersons' call of "unsighted," which should then send the play to the video replay to make the call--without the issue of having "indisputable video evidence" to reverse a call that was made half the time by an official who did not, in fact, see the relevant part of the play. [It's hard to call a play when your view of the key part of it is blocked by a player's body.]

I agree Bill, with all the cameras they have at sporting events they should have enough camera angles to review calls and get them right. The play in question tonight would have been reviewed if the Patriots had a time out to use for a challenge, but they were out of timeouts when the play happened. If the play had happened after the 2 minute warning, it would have been reviewed up in the official's booth.
I wish they would just get rid of the coaches' challenge aspect of it and just review all questionable plays, but the NFL is worried that might take up too much time, even though the games last 3 1/2 hours to begin with. I say, if you are going to use instant replay to begin with, just review all the questionable calls and get them right, no matter how much time it takes.

Great game, great comeback. Since the Titans are having such a horrible season, I'll pull for the Colts to go to the Super Bowl.

Mostly, it was a good football game. Serious coaching blunder at the end, though. Always a bummer when Indianapolis wins - I see the horseshoes on the helmets and can't help but remember how the real Colts were ripped-off from Baltimore.

It was one of the best games I've seen in a long time, especially since the Pats got beat (regardless of who did the beating). I used to like them, but Belichick and his cheating (which seems to have gone unpunished) sure changed that. To make it even better, this win keeps alive the Colts chances of breaking the Pats' record of 21 straight regular season wins. Besides, I used to be a big Colts fan when they were in Baltimore, and even though I certainly didn't like how they were moved, I grew to like them again during the Tony Dungy years.
I don't think many folks thought that the Colts could come back from a 17-point deficit in the 4th quarter, but they played a great game. Of course, it helps that Belichick made a stupid decision to go for it on 4th and 2 at their own 30. It was a tremendous insult to his defense, especially after they had done a pretty good job of keeping the Colts under control so far. Even if they had used the video review, I don't think it would have changed the result. It sure looked like the receiver was bobbling the ball until he hit the ground, at which point he was short of the first down.
Did anyone else see what happened after the game, after Belichick had quickly shook hands with Jim Caldwell? As he and his bodyguard (muscular guy with a shaved head) were running to the locker room, a photographer with a video camera (TV or news?) ran along side to get a shot of Belichick, and the bodyguard guy grabbed him and threw him down. I haven't heard anything else about it, but I thought it was a really nasty thing to do. The photog wasn't in anyone's face or anything, and he obviously had the credentials to be there, but the guy really manhandled him. I'm not the litigous type, but if had been me, I would have sued his butt off.
