i was practicing my banjo last night watching my murphy method dvd, when i was attacked by my 2 dogs, went to put the jo down and knocked my laptop on the floor,
took apart the laptop today and it looks as though ive goosed my hard drive

got to go to work later and now have no laptop to play dvd or cd's now so looks as though im stuck with a week of chords and rolls instead of trying to learn my first proper tune

Sorry to hear your misfortune. It could be worse -- you might have broken your banjo instead. It's hard to practice chords and rolls on a laptop!

Now's a good time to learn something by ear. Take this as a challenge, and make what you can of it untill you fix or replace the laptop. Did the dogs really attack, or were they looking for attention? If they were attacking, they might need their hard drive replaced!
And just what role does the Goose play in this? Was this a virtual goose, or te real waterfowl? If he was finding water in your laptop, it probably wasn't destined to last long anyway.

Exactly what is it about the heading "I'm an idiot" that makes us want to open and read the topic?
I neverthought I was the type to look for entertainment at someone's misfortune, but I may have to rethink my self opinion.

Let me get this straight - you were playing banjo and your own dogs attacked you? I gotta ponder on what that might mean. Means somethin' but I have no clue what. i've known some opera buffs to get pretty down on banjo music... maybe you should try singing a bit of La Donna e Mobile and see if you get any better reception?

Hmm, a boom box is cheaper than a laptop and can play a cd...just sayin, if ya need a quick inexpensive solution............I bought a used dell off of ebay for 250 including a docking station.........but the boom box is like.......20 bucks.

I feel for ya, I have 2 attention craving dogs too., ususally don't attack me though.

Just remember, stuff happens and don't sweat the small stuff, and if ya ain't dying it's small stuff.
