I also lost my father so I know how you feel and what you are going through. My heart felt condolences to you and yours.
He has been gone 10 years now and to this day I still reach for the phone to call him and then I realize he's no longer with us.
He loved my musical ability and the way I could play many instruments all he could play he used to say was the radio. At his funeral we played Bluegrass music. one song in particular by Flatt & Scruggs called, I'd like to have poppa show me around.
My father was retired Army 26 years Master Sargent.
Bless you and yours and may the Lord keep you safe.

Erik, I do undestand you've kids. I lost my daddy for almost the same disease back in 2006, when my first son Francesco, the red one in my avatar, was nearly one yo....
Since then, there is something that happens to me, everyday: and this is to discover myself a son more than ever, while I'm playing my role of father.
I'm sorry for your loss, but be sure that something of your dad will always be with you now.
Hugs

Erik, I know you posted this several days ago, but I just found it. I want to offer my sympathy for you and your family. Like so many others here on BHO I also lost my Dad 29 years ago. They say that time heals all wounds but the loss of a parent though through time the pain may ease it will never be completely gone. I can tell by the way you talked about your Dad you loved Him very much and that love you had for Him and He had for you will be you biggest comfort in the days ahead. You and your family will be very much in our thoughts and prayers and if you ever need to voice your pain or sorrow I'm sure the good people here at BHO will be more than happy to give their support to you.
