Quick question, what exactly is a radiused neck?

The fingerboard is curved on top, like a Martin or Gibson or fender guitar. It makes noting easier. A neck can have a radius that is consistent from one end to the other or one that gets flatter at one end than the other(compound radius).
To figure a radius, you draw a circle with a certain radius, say 11" or 12" or 16". Measure a segment of the circumference that corresponds to the width of the banjo fingerboard and you will see the amount of curvature the fingerboard will have.

The best radius is a conical or compound radius, but it is quite tricky to do properly on a 5 string banjo. I use 7 to 12" radius
