LOL @ Banjophobic. All the stuff rolled into one.

What'd I miss, what'd I miss??

I have nothing to add here. I was just hoping my post would push this thread to 7 pages....

UPDATE / EDIT: Nope, it didn't

C'mon, someone argue with me. We can push this thing to 9, 10 pages at least!

Tolerance is a popular catchphrase. It glorifies a world or setting where we invite your opinion as long as it agrees with ours. If not, then you are being intolerant.

Diversity is the bastardization of cultures. A little of this and a little of that and soon, they are no recognizable boundaries.

Whenever I hear those two words, they mean “your thoughts are wrong and you need to get in line with us.” That is my opinion.

My experience has led me to a different conclusion regarding diversity and tolerance.

Regarding the fact that you didn't post on the evolution thread because it would get locked: Thank you! You were showing tolerance and helping contribute to expressions of diversity on BHO.

Dave T.

Dave, reading my post and your response, it does appear that I was exercising tolerance and allowing diversity to prosper.
And for that I aplogize.

Many times here I am reminded just how infantile adults can be. If anyone is offended by something just ignore it.
I am sick of having to hear how people are offended all the time. Get over trying to make rules so people cannot be
offended. It never has worked and never will. Every time we create a rule or law somewhere that limits speech in hope of not offending people we lose a little bit of freedom and then the same people that just get offended again about something else. Some people will never be happy as long as someone else is.

GROW UP AND LIVE AND LET LIVE. SOMETIMES THIS PLACE REMINDS ME OF A PRESCHOOL PLAYGROUND.

See now I let people now what I find offensive but I am not asking to rules or to have someone else locked out ,and I will
still log in on a regular basis.

THAT IS HOW ADULTS DEAL WITH THING SO PAY ATTENTION CRAYBABIES.

If you're referring to my position throughout this thread - I'm not offended by what people wrote in the thread in question - I'm angry that the thread got locked because of it.

I suggested that since there are rules and since there are chronic offenders of these rules - then they should be banned from posting.

I also suggested that it might be a better idea to throw those rules out and keep the ones that prohibit personal attack - which, apparently, is a rule your post violates in several places.

ok folks keep it civil, or else when I'm done editing your posts, you'll sound like you've been doing more than playin' that good old "mountain dew"!

I believe the rule is that I cannot call any specific person a crybaby but can call the general group I disagree with crybabies and it's not a personal attack so the thread gets to keep going.

OTOH, God forbid if I call someone a Christian or an informed (or mis-informed) voter because that's getting into sticky areas.

How about a new rule of no name-calling period, whether it's personal OR generic?

Hazen - Posted - 11/19/2009:  15:07:54

NO name calling no personal attack on anyone just general observation of childish behavior. I will say that there was no person in particular that the comment was aimed at other than the entire group. I actually think that both sides are misguided here. This will be the last time that I post in this thread because I do not believe that it is a worthwhile topic to spend mental energy on. I hope that you all enjoy yourselves here.

If anyone would like to talk to me about anything that is no allowed here feel free to contact me through email. While I personally think that the only two topics that really matter in the big picture are politics and religion and I am well versed in both I do not post these topics here because I do obey the rules.

I have never used this site to attack anyone and I will not in the future. I believe that doing that here would be tasteless. I wish you all well in your future tirades. I will be busy building relationships with people of all background that would like to talk banjos.

God Bless
