If I have finished a job and need a thirst quenhcer, a Miller High Life will work for me. I might enjoy a Dos Equis amber with a meal at the local Mexican restaurante. I can't handle any quantity of Bud. It gives me a headache!

Probably Guinness for me.
Or Rogue Chocolate Stout. Man that's a good beer. But our local brewery (Blackfoot River Brewing Co) has lots of great beers.

I generally like beer to taste like real beer, not that fancy smancy stuff. Bud Select bottles for me at home, or Pabst or Bud Light on tap when available. Fritz's is great with dinner if I am eating before 7 or so, after that I'll have a beer.

Your "real" beer is a watered down mass-produced shadow of what you consider "fancy smancy". It wasn't until Americans got their hands on beer brewing that beers like Bud and Pabst came into being. "Fancy" beer was the only beer for 90% of beers life on this planet. Not saying I don't like a good light lager, but I don't like the attitude a lot of American beer drinkers have about "real" beer. Real beer is the good, thick, heavy, sometimes flavoured beer that luckily many smaller American breweries are beginning to brew again. Zach

A few weeks ago there was a story on the news about America's oldest brewery. Yuengling in Pottsville PA. I had seen Yuengling in the stores, but always passed it by for my good old Budweiser. Hey I'm from Missouri.....I grew up drinking Bud. I had to try some of the Yuengling, and it's good. It's a dark or amber lager. I live in the mountains..... I have a friend with the same reaction to Bud. Strange.
I like it all, and I drink a lot of PBR, but when I want to sit around, in the winter especially, after dinner and play some music, I'll sip on some nice, thick, dark beer.
