I got my wireless router to work again. I won't admit to how long it took me to get it finally up and running but I just ran the last test and all the computers are up and running and have internet through the EVDO and printer connections too.
Life is good!

Ain't it nice to finally get things working again? Was it a software conflict?
Years back my wife persuaded me to install Microsoft Publisher 2000 because one of our advertisers kept sending us ads made with it and we couldn't open them and convert them to use in our magazine.
I didn't want to install this software A. because we didn't need it (we had the full suite of Adobe products.) B. I'd rather have the one advertiser learn to convert the file to a .pdf that we could use and C. if we did install it I thought it might screw things up with conflicts.
But she was very persistent so I bought the software and installed it on one of the computers that we didn't use that much. I figured when this one advertiser sent an ad I'd open it on that computer and change it into something we could use.
Upon installing it, however, I instantly lost the wireless internet connection to all 5 of our home and home office computers.
It took me several hours to get it working again. I tried all sorts of things and I finally ended up having to uninstall Microsoft Publisher, recover the computer to a pre-installation recovery point, then uninstall the router software, then reinstall and then change whatever settings I needed to get internet back.
Now when an advertiser sends us an ad in a format we can't use - we remind them that we can only accept ads sent as .pdf's or as high resolution .tif's or .jpg's
