Hi all,
I'm looking for someone to install railroad spikes on my Tradesman. Can anyone recommend someone in the Seattle area who does this kind of work? I don't have the tools nor the fine motor skills to tackle this myself.

Stu Herrick at the Folkstore on Roosevelt Ave. in Seattle can take care of you (206-524-1110). Also, Gary Wagner in Burien is a good choice (Gary's at 206-431-8772)

I had three spikes installed at Dusty Strings for about $25 bucks. I don't know what Stu would charge over at the Folk Store but he's a really nice guy, and with his operation being so much smaller, I know he's hurting for business right now.

Thanks guys! These suggestion sound great. Just out of curiosity, what's the average shop time to have spikes installed? Would it require me to leave my banjo overnight?

I watched Frank neat put two in mine in about 60 seconds, start to finish. Came out perfect. Regards, Randy in Germantown, TN "I may be schizophrenic, but at least I have each other."

Just need to second the recomendations for Stu at the Folkstore. Not sure what he would charge, he did mine free of charge on the banjo I bought from him along with some other modifications, but I can assure you he is reasonable (and just a great guy in general). He's on Roosevelt and 55th.

Cat Fox also does work on banjos and guitars. Lives in Ballard, and last time I checked, she had a shop in her back yard. She is a banjo player. She has worked on my Martin, but not any of my banjos.
