I use the pointed stainless steel nationals and would like a couple sets that could be collecting dust somewhere. They are the only pointed Nationals and have only "National" stamped on them. Thanks, Greenbriar

I think the Nationals are aluminium, I could be wrong. Unless they also make stainless steel ones.

National fingerpicks were never made of aluminium (pardon me: "aluminum"...).

Nationals are made from German silver, whatever that is. If they are "pointy", the might be Picky Picks from Ernie Ball...

According to Dean's site there were two styles of National picks with just the word National, and one of those two have a pointed tip.

I personally have seen the ones with the bent tip, not the pointed.

Mea culpa. The Ernie Ball pix are really pointed, much more so than the National's shown on Dean's site...

I am not sure how many years ago that I bought these, they were all that you could buy at the time. I used the Ernie Ball picks as well. Due to the way my thumb is, I have to pull the strings at an angle with both fingers. the pointed picks allow a clean tone rather than a muffled one.
I have often bought picks to try out, I thought that someone might have some of these that they didn't care for.
I would trade a high quality bridge for a pair or pay a good price for an extra set.

I got a really nice banjo for my Mother in Law...(Pretty good trade, eh?)

No one says that the blade of the finger pics have to be centered on your finger! Before you wrap the bands around your finger first center the blade on the "string" at the angle you hold your hand.

I may have a set. Apparently it would be easier if you find someone overseas. If you can't, contact me.

National currently makes NP2 SS picks (stainless) that can be converted to approximate the pointy Nationals of 10 years ago. Grinder's wheel, fine grit sandpaper, steel wool and polish.
