Hey, Frank makes me realize ; This is a good place to place requests and suggestions for our next tour, which we need to start planning immediately. Next April is the next time I'm planning to be in that area, but I may be there sooner if the stars line up.

Music Outlet, Seveirville TN. would be a great stop.
banjoy - Posted - 10/27/2009: 20:28:10
Oh heck yes, Tom.
Boone area = Appalachian State University = bohemians who probably need banjos
Asheville, NC, not that far from Boone, is a world unto itself.
In East TN, you have, of course, East Tennessee State University which has, I think, the only school of bluegrass in the country, in Johnson City / Tri-Cities area. Then you have Knoxville (yawn) the would-have-been could-have-been music capital of the universe.
And Gatlinburg / Pigeon Forge areas too, Jack Hatfield's turf.
...something to think about

Any plans on coming back to Elderlys anytime soon. Would be great to get a good jam session going. I know Stan does an after-hours jam when Martin is in town.

We are on the road after yesterday's great workshop in Tempe. A nice turnout of fine people, and we were having so much fun we ran two hours longer than scheduled. Its a long road from Phoenix to Oklahoma City, but that's our next official stop at Sooner Music, Monday night from 4-6 PM.

Ray, great to meet you in person. The Athena is great player and a great looking banjo, too. I love watching someone pick it up, raising their arm too quickly as they expect more weight resistance. And then they start to play, and they get the "Wow" look. I've seen it everywhere we've been.
We left a couple of nice banjos in Springfield. Those of you in that area, check them out at High Strung Music.
