I started with an easy arrangement of 'Banks of the Ohio'. I wanted to start out with a song that worked well in a slow tempo. 'Amazing Grace' was another early favourite. I learned Cripple Creek, too, just because everybody learns it, but I didn't really enjoy it until I got it up to tempo. Playing CC slowly didn't really feel like making music. I liked the ballads when I couldn't play fast enough yet.
