hey out there,
i was wondering if anyone happens to know what he dark red wood is that was used to cap the back of rims on whyte laydies? i'm having a banjo built and would like to have tis wood used.

I believe its tortise shell plastic on the inner and outer edges and "ebonized"wood(?)maybe pearwood on the bottom edge for #2's.
