I just heard that Patrick Swayze passed away today. I loved the movie as most folks did "Dirty Dancing". He will be missed.

Awe Man!

All the good ones pass away so young it seems, and by today's standards 57 is not old! It seems only yesterday I had a date at a drive-in with a girl going "ga-ga" over this actor. And who can forget him on Saturday Night Live in their mock Chippendale's Contest? I just watched Road House for the first time a couple weeks ago. I know that none of us know how long anyone anyone will live for, but for whatever reason I never seen us losing Patrick until he was much older- I guess I always figured he had good health. But, as we know, nobody knows.

RIP Patrick.

PS: I sure hope the media doesn't make this into another drug seeking adventure and let the family have their closure in peace.

Terry

He had a ranch across the wash from me. While out riding we used to occasionally see him out on his horse.
Often times without his shirt.
I'm very sad to hear he died.

I thought he was playing himself in "Point Break" he was a cool dude, lived hard, and did it his way. Can't ask for better than that. Today is the only day we can live, yesterdays gone, and tomorrow is on the credit, we just have to do the best we can. I think Patrick did that.

Just another odd thought:

He starred in "Ghost", and now he is one.

Patrick was a great actor and will be missed. I enjoyed most of his work however the chic flic Dirty Dancing was my wife's favorite.
I still remember his father, John Cameron Swayzee in the timex comercials on tv in the 50s and 60s. Took a licking and kept on ticking.
Hope Patrick and his father are having a heavenly reunion.
RIP Patrick

Pretty much like everything he was in. Really hope he rests in peace and was ready for the change.

He disclosed in March of 2008 and that he had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, one of the most lethal forms of cancer. Most people I have known with it have lived only two or three months after the diagnosis - Patrick survived over a year-and-a-half, in part due to recent advances in treatment. He went ahead and starred in the TV series "The Beast" last fall, shooting 13 episodes while forgoing painkilling medication because he felt it would hurt his perfomance.

Dirty dancing was filmed in Va at mountain Lake in giles county and they have been interviewing several people that met and spent time with him on channel 7 out of Roanoke all day. One of the guys who was a cook at the lodge and now is head chef gave Patrick a ride on his motorcycle down the mountain into Blacksburg and said he was really a down to earth person. I loved all his movies, but I like "Ghost" with Demi Moore the best, but it was very sad in some parts. He gave a hard fight and had a rough battle with pancreatic Cancer and he will be greatly misssed. He was one of my favorite actors. Micki

I grew up around Patrick's family, his brother Sean and I were best friends in elementary school. His Mom taught dance to most of the girls I grew up with. The whole family is a class act and he will be greatly missed.

A funny thing, when we were young and dumb we used to jab him a lot about taking ballet from his mom and being in drama. He really made us all eat our words, and we were happy to, he deserved the fruits of his labor.

Oh BTW, his father was Jesse Swayze but we was distantly related to John Cameron Swayze.

I remember his role in "North and South" which was a mini-series. Great acting on his part. Still have the VHS of the series. A great story of life during the civil war. This was probably one of his first parts in movies.

I always admired him not only as an actor but a good human being. The guy was married with the same wife for over 30 years. You don't see that in Hollywood too often.

That's my story and I'm sticking with it!

If I'm not mistaken John was a newscaster on the radio long ago.
May Patric RIP
