A set of three tunes. Hillswick (Shetlands ), La Brisquteet ( French ) and Britches Full Of Stiches ( Irish ). Not banjo tunes but we`re playing them at The Sage Gateshead`s fifth birthday party next month. There are 30 of us including seven accordians and ten fiddles. Not a lot of chance of hearing the banjo.

"Fascination", a waltz, played without picks, finger-style on an open back.................about 1 hour ago..........odd or what ?

I like to think of it more along the lines of the most recent tune I've played.

Currently that would have to be "Johnny Don't Get Drunk" paired with "Crossing the Little Doe River." It was a couple of days ago. (I'm visiting my dad in North Carolina and managed to get sick the day after I got here.)

Roustabout. Got inspired to learn it a couple of days ago by listening to olpete's version here on the hangout. I played it about 50 times last night while watching a football game.

Here's what we played last night:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4itv8Sx7Kc

It was fun playing in front of the house. I was happy no motorcycles when past as we filmed; just a couple of cars drove by.

We'd like to film in front of our house again after work. Unfortunately, its supposed to be snowing by 4. Yeah, we want to play a banjo and guitar during a snowfall. Oh well ... we can wait until Spring.

I was just playing some Irish junk ... well, junky because I am trying out some Nylgut strings for the first time and they are stretching all over the place ! Can't keep the banjo in tune tonight .... have to wait until tomorrow and see if those strings calmed down and stopped stretching out...

Soldier's Joy in G, a few minutes ago. I've always played it in Double C, but thought I would try out Ken Perlman's arrangement in G.

Will the Roses Bloom where She Lies Sleeping - If you are ever on the chat and you have the pleasure of
being on with Jim Reed, ask him to play this tune for you. His version is really well so nice and will inspire you
to give it a try, at least it did for me.
