Hope you enjoy my new new composition for Cello Banjo. I'm developing more of a Bear Claw style, these days, using thumb, 1st, 2nd and 3rd on the right hand; feels like how a bear might play a banjo (sounds kind of bear-like, too). I'm tunes gCGCD, playing from underneath about 30 feet of warm water. Join me for a swim. Cheers, P

That's a neat tune Paul, and it plays and sounds good an octave higher. I figgered out some of it (enough to play along) on my old Stromberg and they sound pretty good together.

Paul, I think you should send Don Borchelt a sample of this one and see if he'll work up a 3-finger play-along with it. He has impeccable (sp?) taste and a good sense of what sounds good with CH. I'd like to hear the two of you on that one.

What a cool idea, stringbeaner; I'd love to hear that, too. Think I'll start working out a 3-finger arrangement. Thanks for idea!

Oooh, this sounds really neat. Great tune, Paul, and great picking! You sure get a fine clear tone out of that machine.

Yeah! Very cool. What is the scale length on that monster?

Paul - Thanks for the great tune and demo. I can see (hear?) a cello banjo in my future.
Got a question on your video - do you plug the mic into the camera? The built in mics on cams aren't always in the right place or of high quality.
Thanks again for the tune!

Thank you all very, very much.
The scale on the cello banjos I have (Gold Tone CEB-4 and CEB-5) is 24 and 3/4". I do have an external mic plugged into the camcorder.

I didn't know bears could dive so deep. You learn something every day.
Very nice playing/composing/sound/hat as always Paul. Really great stuff.

Sounds awesome--and grumbles low like a bear, too! Great job!

YouTube is a great way to retrieve where once one tread. Besides seeing what I was doing, I also noticed that I posted the wrong tuning. It's not dbl C; it's fCFCD. Now I can play it again.
