Rubicon,
Get used to it. "They" are not going back. My complaints fell on deaf ears too.
Cheers,
RayD

Would suggest that the search options also include gospel/hymns and Christmas categories

ust tried to download a TABLEDIT format file. It didn't download; rather, it opened as html in my browser. I'm using a Macbook. This problem did not occur with the old version of hangout.
Cheers,
RayD

I've been trying to research threads on back-up Scruggs-style playing. The search brings up many, many threads. Good stuff. However, when I read then go back to the search list, I always get kicked back to p1 of my search. Something needs a good swift kicking.

I'm surprised there isn't a "D" or "Dm" or an "Other" tuning option in the search filters.

I'd like to be able to search for recent additions or see tabs listed in the order they were posted.

You already can--just click "Newest Additions" in the search box, beneath the alphabetical list of letters: banjohangout.org/tab/

That's interesting. With Firefox on my Mac, "Recent Additions" shows up just is just as you say. With Safari, on my Mac, the words "Recent Additions" are hidden behind the "All Tunings" box. Only a fringe of the blue lettering shows.

I am trying to upload an updated version of FMB as taught by Rob Bourassa and my browsers are returning this:
Files Currently Uploaded for this Tab:
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server error '80040e14' Incorrect syntax near the keyword 'FROM'. /pages/tab/edit-tab-start.asp, line 65
Firefox and IE8, two different workstations. Launched browsers with and without add-ons. same difference. Any suggestions?

The search jumps the gun before I entery the title. After two letters it says "Enter at least 3 letters" then when I try again it searches as soon as I hit the third letter without waiting for more or to hit enter. And it pays no attention to genre and style types. I chose Old Time and Clawhammer, and got all bluegrass tabs. If there are no old time tabs for a tune, it should say so.

Is there a way to see the names of the original poster in the case of the old tabs?
I particularly enjoy tabs by Jack Baker and I can no longer tell which ones were his without downloading and opening the individual tabs.
Thanks and once again GREAT SITE and information!!

I agree that seeing who wrote a tab before downloading it would be a very helpful improvement.

I'm not sure if this was caused by the update, but some songs that were previously available ("Imagine", and "Here comes the sun" by The Beatles) and ("Creep" by Radiohead) no longer exist. Not sure if they (and likely others) were removed or just fell through the cracks. Thanks for your time and an awesome website. keep on pickin.

I was wondering if some of the “older” tabs can be “retired.” Sometimes there are three or four versions of the same song almost identical. I don’t rely heavily on Tabs, but I do enjoy looking, listening, getting new ideas, and mostly just being reminded of a song I have long forgotten. Overall, great job maintaining this archive.

I think it would be a good idea to add open D (f#DF#AD and aDF#AD) to the tuning list.

Mike, do you have Tabledit and or Tabview installed on your computer? Without these you'll get diddly squat.

I have just a suggestion. I don't think I missed it, but maybe I did. Anyhow, aDGBD ought to be added to the tunings list. Popular for songs in D position these days, among those who use it a lot are Ron Block, Ron Stewart, Jason Burleson, etc....
Thanks
Doug

Also, the link to the Guitar Pro to Tabledit is bad right now.
schlange - Posted - 01/26/2011: 09:31:34
I added aDGBD tuning to the list, and fixed the Guitar Pro to Tabledit links. Also posted the TabRITE 4.3 download link, if anyone wants to download that software! It's all here: banjohangout.org/links/browse....byid&v=37 Page: 1  2
