Just wanted to say Hi to everyone. I have been lurking for some time now but thought it was time to say hello. I am a bassoonist and saxophonist originally but I have seen the light and am in absolute love with the banjo and bluegrass. As a high school band director I have the chance to dabble in a lot of different genres. I am so excited to bring bluegrass to my kids.

I look forward to learning from all of you. This is a fantastic place!!

Welcome! Was curious when I saw your name -- thought perhaps you were a Canadian policeman. You aren't from Mt. Joy, PA are you (check out my last name)?

Hey Prof. Actually I am a West Virginia Mountaineers graduate and fan, hence the name. I am from Southwestern PA. Nice having a city named after you!

I love my Stelling Crusader. It is fantastic.

I take lessons from Dave Asti. I have had some world class teachers and he definitely ranks up there with them. Very nice guy. I see a lot of people on here emphasizing the importance of a teacher. I absolutely agree. Whether it is an online teacher because you don't have access to one locally or one on one lessons, a good teacher can really get you rolling.

I am so excited about learning banjo!

Jason
