They have them for Rock, and other genres..do they make on for bluegrass? I already know about Band in a Box.

As there are no drums in bluegrass, there are no bluegrass drum machines. But every ordinary drum machine can be programmed to play a simple polka-type rhythm where you can adjust speed for practicing.

I have the top og the line BOSS DR-880. It is the closest thing to the sound of a real drum kit. But just for practicing as an alternative to a metronome, you can probably do with a less expensive machine.

The electronic keyboard, Casio CTK-431, has 99 different rhythm patterns, one of which is "Bluegrass".
It can be speeded up or slowed down.

And, if you want to get REALLY fancy, you can set it on the floor, put the selector switch on ONE FINGER CHORD, mark the keys you need (maybe with a small wood block held in place by removeable adhesive) and tap the chord changes with your TOE while the banjo does the rolls and licks.

There are a LOT of keyboards like that, on the market.

VanBasco's karaoke player works well, and it's free. It's a simple enough rhythm maker with adjustable speed and key. I use it all the time.

Great name for a band

I agree "Syncopated Looper" would be a good name for a band.
Might accidentally sell a few tickets to Cindy Lauper fans.
But, it might be BETTER to have a duo called "Works Great, $150", since youd each get $75 a show.

I bought a used DR660 for $100. It helps my pick timing and goes a long way to making practices an enjoyable
form of entertainment. Cripple Creek bossanova is cool.

Please POST a music file of "Cripple Creek Bossanova".
VIDEO if possible.
We've already got "Foggy Mountain Rhumba" by the Bad Livers:

I will this winter, Mike. As you suggested above, I looked high and low for a keyboard with a built-in drum machine but they were all above my tiny budget.
I would have far more appreciated such a beast but it was not to be.
