Local Colorado Banjo player Jayme Stone sent out an email about this show... He'll probably post it on the BHO anyway, so maybe I'm beating him to the punch. Sorry Jayme.
greetings,
some local folks and i will be debuting a new project in just a few weeks: a tribute to the music of john hartford. if you have not already been smitten by the music of this enormously creative human being, this'll be a great introduction. john hartford is a songster, a banjoist, a guitar-picker, fiddler, river boat captain, calligrapher and old-time music revivalist. here's the skinny on the show:

Not sure if anyone is recording, but I don't think it is the only show. Jayme kind of implied in his email that there would be others, as it is a "new project". So maybe they'll play in Boulder or Denver too soon.

thanks for posting this dooley!
the show is being recorded and filmed by the good folks at the steam powered preservation society and will be up on their website afterwards:

and yes, we hope to present this show again in the future. it's going to be great and i've been really enjoying the opportunity to dig deeper into hartford's catalogue, unique banjo style and overall brilliant approach to making music. we've been particularly fond of practicing his "windows theory" of arranging old-time tunes on the fly which he explains in the liner notes to "speed of the old longbow". fun, fun!
and remember what john said:
"a banjo will get you through a time with no money, but money won''t get you through a time with no banjo."
