I want to give a big "shout out" to both of these. First of all, I have a 7 year old that is quite talented. He's really caught on to the fiddle well. He's wanting to learn something else, so, banjo seemed logical (since he can get free lessons!!!). So, I started looking.
Gold Tone seems to be the only maker of a real youth size banjo. The BG-Mini is absolutely great!!! It has great tone and volume for its size. It has planetary tuners and a geared fifth peg. It's just perfect.
Banjoteacher.com was absolutely the cheapest place we found online. But, they didn't treat us like they were. Their customer service was outstanding.
I'm super pleased with both the banjo and the store!!!!

I too am pleased with stuff I've bought through banjoteacher.com. Ross Nickerson is a nice bloke and seems to have the customer service thing sorted out. I'm interested in getting a travel banjo and can't decide between the Tranjo and the BG mini. You've just made one more vote for the BG-mini
Grahame Bertram - I pick, therefore I grin.

I agree. Banjoteacher.com is awesome! Ross is great to talk with. I have found the lessons to be really good as well. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone. I saw him demonstrate the smaller banjos and I really like the way they sounded. I have thought of getting one for one of my grand kids.
Thanks for the post, sir!
