I was wondering how many of you guys have the Earl Scruggs Special with the abalone inlay and Earls signature on the back.

I own Serial number ES-98-45

Thanks

Bill

p.s. I have one picture of the tailpiece in my home page but how do you put a picture into the listing I just created?

I have one, but don't recall the serial number. I think it was made in 2003.

I have one, I bought it from Charlie Cushman last year. I think they only made about 80 or 90 of these in 8 or 9 years until it was discontinued. (Maybe 10 per year, avg.) Nice banjo! You don't see them for sale at all - I think people who have them are holding on to them. I know I am!

Congrats on getting a special. I also agree that it is probably the prettiest banjo that Gibson has made in the modern era. They are hard to come by, and I also agree that most people that own them are keeping them.
