We have new members all the time but many are now just listing their state. I'm always looking for people to jam with or visit but I'm not going to take the time to email and ask. What's the big deal?

A lot of people are sensitve to their privacy and don't want to list ANY personal info online and that's okay. But it would be cool if the site had a feature that would allow you to find members who were within a specific radius of your location. Even for members who didn't post any location info. It would be similar to finding e-bay items within a certain distance.

If you found members close to you, you try to contact them via the site/email and they can still guard their privacy.

I agree with Tony. A lot of people are sensitive about putting personal information online. Personally, I think everyone should have their real photo on their avatar too. Yosh

Or they want to be on the first page for their state.

Well, here's what I did:
I posted that I would be in Yancey County, North Carolina, and invited anyone near there to show up & meet me.
Several did.
Others wanted to, but had other obligations.

And in a more recent post, I let it be known I'd be in Portland OR.
Again, an invite to meet.

And there's some bloke from the UK who is going to be in Waterford, WI, just a bit down Route 43 from here.
I've offered to meet him in or near Waterford.

Post a topic titled "Looking for jammers near (your location)". And see who responds.
