To finish the story on the TB3 recently listed (eBAYitem #320187922438)I received an email from the eBAY loss prevention departmen tstating that the sellers active listings were removed and trading priveleges suspended. They also stated that due to privacy concerns they could not share further information about the seller.they sent this because I was ,according to their records "a bidder or a buyer".The letter went on to caution me not to proceed with any transaction with this seller outside of eBAY and went on to list possible remedies or avenues of recourse open to me if I had been defrauded. If it is bad form to open a "new" topic to finish an old one I apologize. All these "scam buster" threads are intertwined and will hopefully, have a positive effect.

Thanks for carrying through with this and for letting us know Mike. Aside from being interesting, these threads at least alert those of us in Hangout who have an interest in these old banjos. And they're good learning experiences -- there's always something unexpected both with old Gibson banjos and with the eBay auctions for them.
Best,
